Russian tax authority denies info of break-in by Ukrainian hackers
MOSCOW, Dec 13 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Tax Service has denied the information about being hacked by Ukraine, an authority spokesperson told PRIME late on Tuesday.
“Today certain Internet resources published the information that Ukrainian hackers managed to break into and ‘destroy infrastructure’ of the tax authorities of Russia and that all servers allegedly received malware,” the spokesperson said.
“The information about hacking of the tax system of Russia is not true…all services of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, the official website, and other channels of interaction both with other entities and taxpayers function normally. The distributed information about the destruction of the data, seizure of traffic is a lie,” he added.
Internet users witnessed no problems in operations of the service either.
“All the data of taxpayers and the infrastructure of the Federal Tax Service of Russia is still safe and securely protected,” the spokesperson said.
